Hair Loss Causes and Treatments

Hair Loss Problems:

"Hair Loss Causes
The major reasons for hair loss are genetics and hormones along with lifestyle. We can summarize these as -
DHT
hormones
bloodflow
alcohol
caffeine
stress

DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is a hormone manufactured by the body from Testosterone through activity of the enzyme 5AR (5 Alpha Reductase). Too much DHT causes hair folicles to shrink until they no longer produce visible hair.

Hormones - The increase in male hormones in post menopausal females can lead to hair loss in a woman. DHT can be a factor in female hair loss as it is for men.

Blood flow - a reduced blood flow to the scalp area contributes to losing hair. Excess chloresterol can contribute to poor blood supply in the scalp.

Alcohol, caffeine, stress and diet can all raise the levels of DHT in the body with consequent hair loss problems"
